Water Pollution is the contamination

of water as the result of human activities. 

Pollution occurs when substances such as

human and other animal wastes, toxic chemicals,

metals and oils contaminate water. 

Pollution can affect rain, rivers, lakes, oceans,

and the water beneath the surface of the earth,

called ground water.
