In 1993, Greg Mortenson, an accomplished mountain climber, almost died in a failed attempt to climb a peak in the Himalayas. Local villagers nursed him back to health and he promised to build them a school. He finally built the school and kept going, building schools all over Pakistan and Afghanistan.

This is the story of a family singing group with twelve children that was from Rhode Island and made it big in the sixties and seventies, eventually singing at venues around the country. The Burkes appeared on television, including the Ed Sullivan Show, and their story is funny and inspiring.
